This series contains the unclassified central subject files of the U.S. Embassy, Saudi Arabia, located in Jidda. The files typically consist of instructions, despatches, telegrams, memoranda, reports, and other correspondence with the Department of State in Washington; correspondence with other United States embassies and consulates; and letters and other correspondence with private individuals and businesses. Subjects covered may include the internal political, defense, economic, governmental, cultural, and social affairs of the host country; Consulate efforts on behalf of United States citizens and businesses; trade; the bilateral relations of the United States and the host country; and any subject which consular officials felt might impact the interests of the United States.
